Although we are a professional business fraternity, we pride ourselves in the relationships we make with our fellow Brothers. We are a true brotherhood in every sense of the word and we love to have fun together. In our chapter, we have a semi-formal every fall, a formal every spring, and numerous mixers and retreats throughout the semester. Past formals have been located in Washington, DC and Charleston, SC. All of these events help to build lifelong friendships within the brotherhood.

Each semester, Alpha Tau invites business-oriented individuals who demonstrate potential for future success to seek a bid to pledge. All students interested in business or related fields, other than first-semester freshmen and last-semester seniors, are invited to join us at our rush events which are held in August for the fall semester and January for the spring semester. The Alpha Tau Chapter of AKPsi welcomes both males and females of all backgrounds and majors to join us.

What Pledging Entails

Pledging Alpha Tau is designed to foster pledge/pledge and pledge/Brother relationships and mold prospective members into strong, professional business leaders. Each pledge is given a Big Brother who helps guide them through the process. Instruction centers around business customs and etiquette as well as Fraternal history; activities focus on team-building, leadership, and friendship. Pledges experience opportunities to hear from leading companies and gain other skills through professional development events. Pledges also enjoy many social activities that further bond them with their pledge brothers, undergraduate members, and Alumni of our Chapter. Most alumni of Alpha Tau name pledging our Chapter as their defining college experience.

For More Information

Please feel free to email Chapter President Mike Stefanick, mdstefan@email.unc.edu, or Rush Chair Kristy Herrmann, Kristy_Herrmann@kenan-flagler.unc.edu, if you are interested or have any questions about Alpha Kappa Psi at UNC.
