Alpha Kappa Psi had the pleasure of attending a presentation of the Dean’s Speaker Series on February 2, 2011. Elizabeth A. Duke, who is on the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, spoke of finance, economics, and pursuing passions.

A few of our brothers after the presentation.

I couldn’t help but think of our brothers when listening to Elizabeth Duke. She point-blank said that everyone should commit themselves to lifelong learning, which is one of the guiding principles of Alpha Kappa Psi. Although the room was packed with mostly local professionals, Duke also provided some valuable advice to us college students: “don’t be afraid to something other than what you studied in college.” Duke majored in Drama at UNC, and went on to be an extremely successful professional in the fields of finance and economics.

Elizabeth Duke spoke at Koury Auditorium at 7:00 p.m. on February 2nd, 2011. Many thanks to Dean Jim Dean and Kenan-Flagler Business School for hosting the event.

For more information on the Dean’s Speaker Series, see the Kenan-Flagler website. AKPsi typically attends each presentation, so look for us there!
